Отговорът от Шеринг:
Dear all,
I would like to take chance to give more clarification regarding the “Anti-abortion” campaign, conducted in Bulgaria in the beginning of 2008.
The Campaign was initiated to alarm about the negative consequences, which abortion causes and to improve the healthy situation in the future. It was an initiative of Bulgarian Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology (BSOG) and Bayer Schering Pharma. The project was fully supported by several non-governmental organizations (NGOs) like “Association of the Bulgarian mothers”, “Organization for reproductive health - Smile”.
The goal of the project was to inform the Bulgarian women about the situation in terms of “reproductive culture” among the women in Bulgaria. It was related with the abortions, because the abortion is very common “contraceptive” method in Bulgaria, respectively the abortion rate in Bulgaria is one of the highest in Europe at the moment (approx. 50 000 abortions/year and approx. 60 000 baby deliveries/year; source BSOG). During the project through
www.antiabort.info was conducted a short survey among the Bulgarians in order to understand the level of awareness about the negative impact of the abortion in the society.
During the campaign was underlined, that the abortion is harmful for the woman’s body and is not the only, but one of the reasons for infertility. The representatives of the BSOG together with the representatives of the NGO’s during the organized press events were giving profound medical information about the negative health results, which abortion causes to the women.
In this respect we do not consider delivering this general information as discriminating or humiliating in any respect.
Yours sincerely,
Mr. Renato Keller
